Transfer: Salah receives £155m offer to leave Liverpool for new club
According to reports from Saudi television station Al-Riyadiah, Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, has been offered a deal worth €180 million (£155m) over two seasons to leave Anfield and join Al-Ittihad.
Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Arabian club that emerged as champions of the Saudi Pro League (SPL) last season, is said to be in discussions with Salah’s representatives regarding the potential move before the summer transfer window closes. As per the report, Al-Ittihad is prepared to make a £60 million bid to secure Salah’s signature.
It’s worth noting that Al-Ittihad has already made notable signings this summer, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Jota. Meanwhile, Liverpool has seen Jordan Henderson move to Al-Ettifaq and Fabinho joining Al-Ittihad last week.
As of now, Salah’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season. The potential move to Al-Ittihad would represent a significant transfer in terms of both financial value and player stature. However, it’s essential to wait for official confirmation from both clubs or the player himself before making any conclusive judgments on the matter.
