Transfer: Chelsea eye ex-EPL goalkeeper as Kepa agrees deal with Real Madrid

Chelsea is reportedly considering a move for former Premier League goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as Kepa Arrizabalaga agrees to a season-long loan deal with Real Madrid.

With Kepa’s impending departure, Chelsea will need a replacement for their goalkeeping department, especially after Edouard Mendy already left Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid, in need of a new goalkeeper due to Thibault Courtois’ serious knee injury, is looking to bring in Kepa from Chelsea on a short-term deal.

Chelsea has already secured the signing of Robert Sanchez from Brighton for £25 million, and it seems he will be the starting goalkeeper when they face Liverpool in their Premier League opener at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Blues still require another keeper in the squad, leading them to reportedly turn their attention to Kasper Schmeichel, who is currently playing for Nice, as reported by The Guardian.
