Transfer: Awaziem to join Nantes on four-year contract

Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem is on the verge of completing a move to Ligue 1 club Nantes. The 26-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract with Nantes after the French club reached an agreement with his Portuguese club, Boavista.

This will mark Awaziem’s second stint with Nantes, having previously been on loan at the club during the 2017/18 season. His arrival will bring the number of Nigerians at Nantes to two, joining winger Moses Simon.

Awaziem spent the last season on loan at Croatian club Hajduk Split and has previous experience playing for clubs in Spain and Turkey.
