What are the latest innovations in TVs? What about Samsung’s innovations? What is new in the field and how is it different from what has been on the market so far?

Victor Armăselu: Today, people want the most immersive viewing experiences possible, with much more realistic details and colors, exceptional sound, but also more interactivity and connectivity. We wanted to bring the topic of connectivity closer to consumers, to show them what a connected home means with the help of the Smart Things application, which is integrated into all TVs in the new range. SmartThings that automatically syncs not only Samsung devices in a home, but also third-party appliances from other brands.

For those who are passionate about art and want to have it closer, the Samsung Lifestyle 2023 TV range comes with alternatives for all tastes. With The Frame TV you can turn your home into an art gallery. Specifically, with the Art Mode option you can put your favorite photos or paintings on the screen, change them every day.

Another innovation is The Serif, which has an unconventional design that fits anywhere in the house. Literally. And with Ambient Mode, the TV “camouflages” itself, mimicking the color of the walls. And I can’t help but mention The Freestyle, our flagship video projector, with which any space can easily become a “screen”. The Freestyle is extremely portable, ideal for those who are always on the go, precisely because it is also very light (it weighs only 830 grams).

In short, we have a lot of innovations and novelties, adapted according to the needs of each type of man, so that they respond exactly to his lifestyle. And another very important thing that characterizes all the products in the complete series of Samsung TVs is our sustainability and care for the environment. The new TV range contains recycled materials and the packaging uses less ink and staples during production. In addition, all models come with the SolarCell remote control, now in its third generation, which does not require batteries and can be charged both from sunlight and directly from signals emitted by Wi-Fi routers.

What do Romanians want in terms of televisions? How educated is public taste? What are the main things that people pay attention to before purchasing a TV?

Victor Armăselu: Romanians’ tastes in televisions have refined in recent years, with access to technology and more and more information. The TV is no longer just a device that plays the content on the screen and that’s it. It has become the main source of entertainment in the comfort of your own home. Moreover, we no longer find it only in the living room, but in every bedroom and even in the kitchen. Consumers are now much more educated about the technical or performance characteristics of televisions. I know very well what expectations they must have when it comes to picture, sound or connectivity. Consumers want much more realistic colors, more interactivity and above all connectivity between all the gadgets or appliances in the house.

The most sought-after TVs are still those with a large diagonal. Romanians like to have a Smart TV in their home with a generous diagonal, but which is also intuitive and energy efficient. On average, at the market level, the diagonal exceeds 40 inches for newly purchased TVs, and the average for Samsung is over 55 inches.

And there is another important aspect that consumers take into account: the price. The pandemic of recent years and the economic effects generated by it have made people more careful about how much and how they spend, and when it comes to televisions, people want a balanced value for money.

Victor Armăselu: application Smart Things is a true ecosystem designed to simplify the lives of our users and satisfy consumers’ need for connectivity. Specifically, Samsung TVs instantly connect to the other devices in the house: the refrigerator, the washing machine, the phone or the oven. The moment they are turned on, the connection is made automatically, and they can even take the role of the centralized hub of the house.

Of course, we are aware that people have products from other brands, not just Samsung, at home, and that they would like to be able to connect to the same central hub. That is precisely why, through Smart Things, you can now also connect devices from other manufacturers. In addition, we have established Home Connectivity Alliance, whose mission is to collaborate with other market players to deliver the most intelligent and connected experience, right in your home. Furthermore, we continue to develop the integration SmartThings cu Matterthe innovative connectivity standard supported by more than 220 companies worldwide.

In this sense, the connectivity of the new TV range of 2023 is taken to the next level and manages to provide them with amazing gaming and entertainment experiences.

What are the main features of the new Samsung range (QLED AND OLED)?

Victor Armăselu: Samsung 2023 TV lineup is truly surprising and consumers can say that the wait is over. No matter what screen technology they want, be it QLED, OLED, or even screenless products, thinking here of our range of smart video projectors, Samsung has reached the level of technological maturity. Now is the best time to buy a new TV or projector, with a picture that tends to perfection and sound to match. The revolutionary Quantum Matrix technology with Quantum Mini LEDs ensures more intense contrast, realistic colors, deep black tones and immaculate whites. In fact, the color palette is so close to reality that we are talking about televisions validated by the Pantone Institute. Moreover, with the help of technologies Dolby Atmos and OTS (Object Tracking Sound), you have your own cinema in the living room. And there is something else: the function of Q-Simphony ensures powerful audio quality in sync with the soundbar. Basically, it’s like being part of the action you’re watching.

The new range Samsung NEO QLED 8K and 4K it has sizes starting from 43 inches and reaching up to 85 inches, for all preferences. Regarding gamma OLED 4K TVthis is expanded this year with two new models, the S95C and S90C, both featuring the same smart processor Neural Quantum which guarantees spectacular colors and strong contrast for an incredible visual experience.

For gaming enthusiasts, it is now much easier to play from the couch, directly on the TV, without consoles, without compromising when it comes to game quality. What is the difference between QLED andand OLED? It’s a differencereal perceptible to the human eye? Or are we talking about two different technologies?

Victor Armăselu: Yes, we are talking about two different technologies. The major advantage of QLED TVs is that this technology allows the creation of products that can reproduce 100% color volume, the lighting being done with LED light sources. This means we can achieve much better brightnesses without losing color. In the case of OLED TVs, we are talking about a different technology for making a TV panel, where each pixel of the image is individually controlled by color sub-pixels. Samsung OLED TVs also come with a layer of quantum dots, which means that OLED products take advantage of QLED: improved brightness and 100% color volume.

What will the next Samsung TVs look like?

Victor Armăselu: I think it’s a bit early to talk about what the next Samsung TVs will look like. What I can tell you is that Samsung has now reached a level of technological maturity with this year’s TV lineups. The 2023 models come with all these improvements that we talked about above: increased connectivity, screens equipped with technologies that reproduce millions of color shades, just like in reality, a sound system that makes you feel like you are in a theater concerts or in a cinema, and all this under the umbrella of sustainability. I believe that all these aspects meet the needs and desires of consumers and will continue to be relevant and then, implicitly, represent important decision factors in the technological innovations that we make from year to year.
