EPL: He’s not ready to play at top level – Gallas criticizes Chelsea’s summer signing

Former Chelsea center-back William Gallas has expressed his concerns about the club’s recent signing, Axel Disasi. Gallas believes that Disasi is not adequately prepared to compete at the highest level for Chelsea and may not be a suitable fit for a club of Chelsea’s caliber.

Disasi recently joined Stamford Bridge from Monaco in a £38.5 million deal. Gallas, in his critique, mentioned that he has observed Disasi’s performances for Monaco, and he questions the need for Chelsea to bring in yet another defender. He feels that the team already has a surplus of defenders, making the addition of Disasi questionable.

While Gallas acknowledges Disasi’s physical prowess and strength, he highlights that these attributes alone are insufficient in the demanding environment of the Premier League, especially when playing for a prestigious club like Chelsea. Gallas emphasizes the importance of having both physicality and additional quality to thrive at this level.

In Gallas’s view, Disasi may not possess the specific qualities and skills required to excel at Chelsea. He questions the wisdom of signing Disasi, considering that he doesn’t believe the player is fully prepared to perform at the highest level just yet.
