EPL: He had weird movement – Mikel Arteta worries for Arsenal star

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has expressed his concerns after Jurrien Timber was forced to leave the field due to injury during Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Timber was part of the Arsenal lineup as they secured a 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest in their first match of the Premier League season at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah secured all three points for the Gunners against Steve Cooper’s team.

However, during the game, Timber, who was making his Premier League debut for Arsenal, suffered an injury after making a challenge. Despite staying on the pitch until half-time, he was unable to continue when the second half started, having sustained an injury that seemed unrelated to any contact.

In response to the situation, Arteta made the decision to substitute Timber with Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Japanese defender.

After the match, Arteta admitted that he is uncertain about the severity of Timber’s injury, stating: “I need to speak with the doctors and understand what happened, but he had a really unusual movement as soon as he came on the pitch. So, I don’t know.”
